My Safety Mission

Life was a hurricane tossing me through the wind,

Every valued memory was wretched from my hands,

Sullied and stamped on.

The pain I felt in those six months is a pain I wish upon no one,

Not even the person that did that to me.

But through the hurricane came the sunshine,

In the form of two people.

People who loved me and treasured me,

Made me laugh when my world was crumbling.

They turned my disaster into a safety mission,

Repatching my torn apart house,

Refurnishing it to be grander than before.

Thank you for being my sunshine through the storm.

Thank you for choosing me to love.
